Check out Sephyrus...

This featured business has been a long time in coming. I've really been behind in my blogging posts but hopefully will get that back in high gear! So let's start off with one of our January contributors to the Out Of The Box Sampler.

Sephyrus is an awesome candle business that you'll just love to add to your list of favorites! They have an Etsy shoppe. You'll find lots of goodies from votives, tealights, tarts, jar candles to bath n body and gift sets.

Their candles are made from all natural palm wax and they use premium, phthalate free fragrance oils. Not only is palm wax beautiful with its crystalized appearance, it also allows the fragrance to smell truer than any other wax base. This means you get a superior candle scent experience.

From the samples they sent in, the scents were just awesome! I especially fell in love with "Snozzberry!" It is a deep berry scent that you just can't quite put your finger on but it's scrumptiously wonderful!

Here's a few others and a couple you might find interesting for Valentine's Day:

First Kiss

Blackberry Sage

Pumpkin Apple Butter

Lick Me All Over

and Spiced Cranberry.

If you can't decide and want to try a little of everything, you can purchase the sampler pack of 12 different winter & holiday scents.

Don't forget to pamper your skin as well with one of the sexy gift sets available. A set comes with a 5oz bottle of lotion and a candle.

These gift sets are called The Kindle Collection and they contains sensually scented lotions and candles designed to evoke a 're-kindling' of romance and passion! So make a purchase from Sephyrus and plan a night in with your significant other. But make sure you have plenty of the Kindle Collection on hand!

Enjoy!

Copy, Paste and Blog It...

It is a Blog-in. Help pass it a long.

As parents and concerned citizens I’m sure most of us at one time or another have been confronted with the question of lead poisoning. But have you asked yourself what your government is doing to protect your children from lead contained in toys? The answer? They're banning toys, taking books from schools and libraries, hurting low income families, killing entrepreneurial spirit and risking putting the economy in an even greater depression than we've seen in decades. I'd like to introduce you to their solution: the CPSIA.

Do you know about the CPSIA? No? Then I ask you to take a few minutes to find out about it.

The CPSIA stands for Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act, a new set of laws that will come into effect on 10 February, 2009 and will impact many, many people in a negative way. Make no mistake, this is very real. View it for yourself. If Forbes, the American Library Association and numerous other media are paying attention, perhaps you should too.

How will these new laws affect you? Well, here are a few examples:

To the Parents of Young Students:
Due to the new law, expect to see the cost of school supplies sky rocket. While those paper clips weren't originally intended for your student to use, they will need to be tested now that your 11-year-old needs them for his school project. This law applies to any and all school supplies (textbooks, pencils, crayons, paper, etc.) being used by children under 12.

To the Avid Reader:
Due to the new law, all children's books will be pulled from library and school shelves, as there is no exemption for them. That’s okay though, there's always television. Our children don’t need to learn the love of reading after all.
Article from the American Library Association http://www.wo.ala.org/districtdispatch/?p=1322

To the Lover of All Things Handmade:
Due to the new law, you will now be given a cotton ball and an instruction manual so you can make it yourself since that blanket you originally had your eye on for $50 will now cost you around $1,000 after it's passed testing. It won't even be the one-of-a-kind blanket you were hoping for. Items are destroyed in the testing process making one-of-a-kind items virtually impossible. So that gorgeous hand-knit hat you bought your child this past winter won’t be available next winter.

To the Environmentalist:
Due to the new law, all items in non-compliance will now be dumped into our already overflowing landfills. Imagine not just products from the small business owners, but the Big Box Stores as well. You can't sell it so you must toss it. Or be potentially sued for selling it. You can't even give them away. If you are caught, it is still a violation.

To the Second-Hand Shopper:
Due to the new law, you will now need to spend $20 for that brand new pair of jeans for your 2-year old, rather than shop at the Goodwill for second hand. Many resale shops are eliminating children's items all together to avoid future lawsuits.

To the Entrepreneur:
Due to this new law, you will be forced to adhere to strict testing of your unique products or discontinue to make and/or sell them. Small businesses will be likely to be unable to afford the cost of testing and be forced to close up shop. Due to the current economic state, you'll have to hope for the best when it comes to finding a new job in Corporate America.

To the Antique Toy Collector:
Due to the new law, you'd better start buying now because it's all going to private collection and will no longer be available to purchase. “Because the new rules apply retroactively, toys and clothes already on the shelf will have to be thrown out if they aren't certified as safe.” http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123189645948879745.html

To the American Economy:
Already struggling under an economy that hasn’t been this weak in decades, the American economy will be hit harder with the inevitable loss of jobs and revenues from suppliers, small businesses and consumers. The required testing is far too costly and restrictive for small businesses or individuals to undertake.

To the Worldwide Economy:
Due to this new law, many foreign manufacturers have already pulled out of the US market. You can imagine the impact of this on their businesses.

If you think this is exaggerating, here is a recent article from Forbes
http://www.forbes.com/2009/01/16/cpsia-safety-toys-oped-cx_wo_0116olson.html

And for those of you prepared to be stupefied and boggled, The New Law

A Little Magick...

d

Dana from Magick Moon Soap Wurks
created our Featured Business in 2002. You will just love her lucious soaps and her creativity with the products names as well. I found Magick Moon Soap Wurks
while I was searching the web for the best businesses to contribute to the Out Of The Box Sampler.
I emailed Dana and of course, she joined us for our December boxes. But, don't fear, she's back again in our January boxes that go on sale January 16th. So mark the date and don't miss out on her scrumptious samples!

All the soaps at Magick Moon Soap Wurks are made with Goat's Milk. They use only 100% farm fresh whole Goats' Milk. The French and American Alpine goats that provide the milk are raised in a clean and all-natural environment, using only the finest feed ingredients and no artificial hormones or rBST (Bovine Growth Hormone).

Goats milk is naturally ultra-moisturizing. It contains capric, caprylic and capronic acids and natural occurring triglycerides. Otherwise known as good fats. The result is a pH level that is good for healthy skin, while commercial soap can dry out the skin to the point at which it feels taut and itchy. But not Magick Moon Soap Wurks. The soaps themselves contain no animal fats or oils. The plant and nut based oils that are used are especially chosen to renew and condition the skin without problems of dryness or irritation. Absolutely NO Peanut Oil is used in the making of any of their products either.

Here's what really caught my eye:

All Hallows Eve

Be-Wicked

Immortality

Pandora's Box

The Witching Hour

Persephones Desire

Bella Donna

Witches Brew

These are some of the unique names Dana has come up with for her soaps. Isn't that just too cute! Some of the gentle herbal soaps that you'll find are:

Chocolate Covered Strawberry, Perfect Patchouli, Vanilla Lavender Citrus, White Chocoatle Dipped Raspberries, Succulent Pomegranate, Dark Chocolate Peppermint and more! With scents like that, they may need to come with a warning that says...DO NOT EAT THE SOAP!

Another great feature I thought this business had is the ability to pick your bar size when you order. You can now purchase either full size, personal size or sample size soaps. If your like me, I get bored easily and like to try many different things. The sample size is perfect for that. You can buy up to 3 different sample sizes AND get free shipping too. Or, join their "Soap of the Month" Club. Here's what you get...

Receive their periodic Blog - the 'Magick Moon's Insiders Edition'
where they will make the following club announcements!

Announcement for "Soap of the Month" - 3 weeks in advance of the announcement going live on their eShop website.

Hear about Clearances and sales prior to live eShop announcements.
Hear about New Products first!

And last- BUT certainly NOT least!!!!...

What a Lucky Dog!

After a little break from blogging, I'm getting started again with an awesome business that will be in our January Sampler Boxes at the Out Of The Box Sampler.
Just a reminder that the boxes go on sale JANUARY 16th!

Say hello to the Lucky Dog Treat Company!

I know that if you own a dog, it's definitely part of your family. I mean, what would we do without our pooches unconditional love! Well know you can pamper your pooch, no matter what breed you own, with only the best treats from Lucky Dog Treat Company.

When I first found them on Etsy I was surprised by the variety of dog treats they have. Actually I was more surprised at how delicious they look!

Most of the time you can expect your doggie treats to look the tradional way, like little bones.

And of course, they have those too. All their treats are made with 85% organic ingredients, and they use no preservatives, chemicals, or artificial flavors. The colors are derived from fruit and vegetable powders and natural plant dyes. So their "good" for your dog, but don't tell them that because what they don't know, won't hurt them!

And if that wasn't enough, they are fully licensed through the Pennsylvania Dept. of Agriculture. All of their treats have been tested by an independent lab for guaranteed analysis!

But this is what caught my eye... This is "Maggies Holiday Peanut Brittle!" Doesn't it look delicious? If your dog's anything like mine, they love peanut butter! Did you think doggie treats could look this good? There's also another seasonal favorite called "Sadies Pumpkin Patch Treats" I'm sure you dog will love.

Best yet, the Holiday Treats are Now HALF OFF!!! That's right, Maggie's Peanut Brindle and Sadie's Pumpkin Patch Treats are now 50 Percent off! But that's only till supplies last. Or you can buy any of their other scrumptious products and get a bag of Sadie's Pumpkin Patch Treats AND Maggie's Holiday Peanut Brindle FREE! So get em while you can at Lucky Dog!

Here's a list of some other goodies you'll find:

Scottish Tea Biscuits

Cinnamon Snax

Pub Pretzels

BBQ Treats

McGregors Greens

Chicken & Beef Treats

Apple Cinnamon Biscuits

Carob Crunchies

Big Dog Bagels

Apple Sesame Biscotti

And another one I found adorable...Penny Honey Hydrants!

Just incase you cat lovers are feeling a little left out, don't fear, they have Boos Catnip Treats also!

So don't waste anymore time, run over to Lucky Dog Treat Company and grab your doggies some sweet treats!
