Tis the Season for Giving...

THIS RAFFLE TICKET GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED, THANK YOU TO ALL WHO PARTICIPATED!

WINNERS ARE REBECCA C. & CYNTHIA H.

Here's a picture of Erica! Isn't she a sweetheart!

I recently found out that one of my Out Of The Box Sampler box buyers each month, was using her box purchases to help out a little girl so she would have Christmas presents to give her mom and aunts. I thought that was wonderful. After a couple emails back and forth I found out a little more about this amazing little girl named Erica. Her story tugged at my heartstrings and I knew I had to do something for her and I'm hoping you will want to help me too.

Let me tell you about her...

Erica is an 8 year old 3rd grader with Merosin-deficient muscular dystrophy. It is congenital, so she has had it since birth. She is in a motorized wheelchair. She is extremely intelligent, keeps up with all her school work and is quick to charm people. She is very kind hearted and compassionate, with a quick wit. She has made many friends since school started in September. She loves Barbies, the Jonas Brothers, Hannah Montana, art projects, and singing. Erica's wish, which Make a wish is granting, is to go to Disney World Fl, for her birthday which is March 13.

Here's where you and I come in at...

Make A Wish needs everyone's help to make sure that Erica gets her wish. This economic downturn we're all having has really affected the charities this year. People just don't have the money to donate like they used to. So I decided that I was going to raffle off two of our Halloween Sampler boxes from October. If you missed this last Halloween box, here's your chance to win it, AND, help Erica get her wish too.

Our Halloween box was just awesome, but I've made it even better. I've combined the 3 boxes we had left over into two that have a total of 21 samples each!

Want a chance to win? Here's how to do it...

RAFFLE TICKETS WILL BE SOLD FOR JUST $1.00 EACH. You can purchase just one ticket or as many as you'd like. The more tickets you purchase, the more chances you'll have to win and the more money we'll raise for Erica.

100% OF THE MONEY COLLECTED WILL BE DONATED STRAIGHT TO ERICA FOR HER MAKE A WISH!

When you purchase a raffle ticket or multiple tickets thru our paypal button below, each one will be assigned a number that I will keep track of. At the end of the week, I will use the Random number Generator to pull two winning raffle ticket numbers. I'll come back here and post who the winners are.

If you would just like to donate instead of buying raffle tickets, you can do that also thru the paypal button below. Just put a little note that says your donating to Erica's Wish.

So open your hearts and your pocket books so we can have a little part in making wishes come true for a little girl who will have the time of her life at Disney World!

It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown...

I LOVE Halloween. It's definitely my favorite holiday. I think what makes it even more special is the fact that two of my boys were born on October 30th. That's right! Drew was 11 yesterday and Chase was 3. Drew once told me that the best present he ever got was his baby brother on his birthday. Isn't that so sweet!

I thought I'd share another thing close to my heart with you too. It's "The Great Pumpkin!"

I watch this Charlie Brown show every single season. It's a tradition at our house that we wouldn't miss.

So I snuck over to my favorite shopping place, Etsy, to see what I could find in the "Great Pumpkin" category...

Lavandedebois...

Are you a girly girl? Do you love to pamper yourself with bath n body goodies? I can't even think about slipping into a hot bath without my favorite bath bomb, sugar scrub, soap and of course, some candles to set the mood. It's not very often that I get to enjoy such luxury (having 4 boys explains that), but when I do, I always hunt down my favorite shoppes to order from.

Lavandedebois could definitely be a favorite on my list! You will find all your needs all in one stop. They have handcrafted soaps, salt scrubs, lip balms, hand salves, and bath salts too.

You'll find cocoa mint and vanilla lip balms for super soft, kissable lips. And check out their lemon drop and lavendar hand salves. You know when old man winter arrives, you'll need all the help you can get for cracked, dry hands.

Here's what they say about their soaps..."Our natural handcrafted soaps are created using the cold process method. Because all the naturally good for you additives are added after the lye and vegetable oils have cooled we are able to incorporate a wide variety of essential oils, herbs, and botanicals without exposing them to damaging heat. Also the naturally occurring glycerin is not removed as it often is in commercial soapmaking. All our soaps are superfatted, which means about 5% of the oil is intentionally left in the soap after the process of saponification is complete yielding more emollient gentle bars of soap than manufactured methods."

They are also a member of the Handcrafted Soapmakers Guild.

Here's a few soap scents you won't be able to resist...

Coconut Mojito

La Vader

Lemon Dill

Mint Chocolate Chip

Lavender Vanilla

Orange Spice

Lemongrass Poppy Seed

and Idaho Mossmint.

They also offer gift packaging and gift sets, if you'd like to send your purchase to a friend. Or, you can just do one stop shopping for your whole Christmas list this year at Lavandedebois and be done in time to enjoy the holidays this year.

So either way, make sure you head over and pamper yourself!

Perfectly Prim...

The Crows Nest Primitive Shoppe
has to be my favorite website ever. I love all things primitive and Andrea, the owner, has summed up what perfectly primitive is with all her products.

I first found her shoppe while looking for contributors to the Out Of The Box Sampler. I loved everything about her website and sent her a letter to join us. She graciously accepted and stayed for a few months in a row. If you weren't lucky enough to get a sample of her goods, you have really lost out.

Her candles and melting tarts are just incredibly delicious and fill your home with strong scents.

Her candles come in primitive square mason jars with rusty ole' lids on them. Check out this holiday candle with the rusty bell, I just love it!

That's the thing about Crows Nest Primitive Shoppe, Andrea puts her heart and soul into the finishing touches on everything she makes. You can't help but feel special when you get your order.

Her family owns and operates an herb farm so you get the freshest ingredients put into her products. You have to check out her website's seasonal page for the cutest holiday gifts you can spoil your family and friends with.

And her gift baskets are adorable.

So if your looking for perfectly prim, then look no further and run over to the Crows Nest Primitive Shoppe to place all your holiday orders. But, be sure to tell them that Michelle sent ya!

I'm thinking a month ahead today because I made the new ad button for the November Out Of The Box Samplers website. It has the cutest turkey on it. So I was thinking that would be a great blog post.
